Twitter has its own search engine, which the team at
Twitter plans to update, to include web pages linked to in Twitter posts. But there is competition from third-party search engines; the latest as per
CNET News is Crowd Eye. Ken Moss, who led the search engineering team at Microsoft for five years, has spent the last months building CrowdEye, a real-time search engine that aims to allow users to better mine Twitter to get a pulse on hot topics. This new Twitter search engine also features a list of the most popular links on a topic and a tag cloud of associated terms:

As you can see above the popular links are on the Iran elections and baseball. Ken Moss said that searching Twitter is also useful for things like finding the latest viral video or a solution to a new software bug. Crowd Eye also has its own Twitter account linked at the bottom of their search engine home page.
